The red kitchen

I still think there is something irresistible about a red kitchen.
It might be the fact that I love red, but red kitchens are always cozy and warm.  I found a few of these on Pinterest, and oh yes, I'm addicted to Pinterest lately!

I was actually thinking about painting my kitchen a creamy white, but I believe that I'll keep it red for now.

What color is your kitchen?

Painting the kitchen

We have a red kitchen.  It's been red for maybe 10 or 12 years and I'm thinking of changing the color.  I like my red kitchen, but I'm ready for a change.  Do you ever get tired of a room color?

I pulled out my book of color chips the other day and started going through colors.

I love the look of "old English country kitchens".

Paging though many of my English Home magazines recently, I found that most of the kitchens are a soft white or warm yellow color.

So this is the color I'm thinking about (the one marked with the x).

I have a lot of time to think about this project because it will not be tackled until the cancer treatment is over and I'm once again feeling strong and back to my old self.
Something to look forward to now that I've decided.

Can't wait!

A tole waste can...

It may not be old (like the 18th century tole trays and metalware) but it was a bargain. I loved this metal waste can as soon as I saw it! I think it was the china red color and the pretty shape, that caught my eye. And, I've been looking for one for our master bathroom for some time now.

I found it at Big Lots for $5.00. Love a bargain!

Another bargain was this crocheted pillow at GW for $1.29. Even after being laundered, it still kept it's shape and looks nice ~ a pretty antique color.

And, the last bargain I found was another waste can, only this one is wood. $1.39 at GW. And guess what I'm going to do with it? Can't you see.....it's a blank canvas. I'll be painting this one. And I think I may start with black as the base and go from there. Probably flowers.

Gotta love a bargain!

Red

Red is one of my favorite colors.

Red is the color of passion, the color of excitement, the color of heat, the color of opulence.
