Simple pleasures

They say the best things in life are free.  I believe that.  As I look out over my summer garden and see all the beautiful color, nature is smiling back at me.

The black-eyed-susans are in full bloom now and spreading themselves everywhere.

I picked a handful this morning and brought them inside to enjoy.

It's the little things in our lives that can make a big difference.  Simple little pleasures.

So go ahead, pick some flowers today and bring them inside to enjoy.  You'll be glad you did.

Have a good week!

Anticipation

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ~Proverb

Walking through the garden you can see signs of spring.

I found a tiny little blue violet.

Daffodils, daylilies, hyacinths and black-eyed susans are popping up out of the cold ground.

And the bearded iris that I planted in a new bed seems to be happy where I planted them.

The joy of spring is just around the corner.

Black-eyed-susans

The cheery bright blooms of the black-eyed-susans are taking over the garden. What a beautiful site to behold!

'Tis my faith that every flower

Enjoys the air it breathes!

Drought-tolerant

Thank heavens for drought-tolerant plants. These black-eyed susans and obedient plant are the only blooms in the garden right now. August is turning into a very hot month and today is another 100 degree day.
