The storm

Irregardless of the storm that was heading our way yesterday, since my daughter had a scheduled day off from work, she and I decided to get together as planned and went shopping, hitting the thrift markets and having lunch. It was raining and windy on the way over to her house (about 40 minutes away) but not that bad.

We had a great day together even though the rain continued all day long.

This morning when I left Otis and Riley out, I walked out into the garden and couldn't believe my eyes! The storm was worse than I thought. Our back yard was flooded.

This is the walk way out to the garage.

The butterfly bush was blown over and laying in a pool of water. Otis is here checking it out.

More standing water in the back of our yard.

All the mulch is washed away. Riley's toy is soaked.

What a mess. The good thing is the sun is shining brightly today and hopefully some of this water will dry up.

In the meantime, I've got lots of work to do!

Oh my, your beautiful back yard!! I sure hopr you can right that nice bush and save it. They are pretty resilient bushes.

We are getting intermittent rain in PA but nothing like they called for and thankfully no wind.

So sorry about your mess! It's a good thing you were out having fun with your daughter and not sitting home watching and worrying.

Hey Donna, We got lots of wind and rain yesterday too....but the wind wasn't as bad as yours I don't think. It's misted all day here today and I took the opportunity to get more grass seed planted. Hope the sun shines tomorrow. We plan on going to the garden center for plants (for the deer..lol ). Have a super great weekend. ~ Lynn

Wow that must have been some storm. We had a big branch from our sweet gum tree come down last week. It hit our roof and took out a little wire temporary fence. It took us a couple of days to cut it up, take it to the dump, and repair the fence. Lots of extra work! Have fun. Mimi
