Irregardless of the storm that was heading our way yesterday, since my daughter had a scheduled day off from work, she and I decided to get together as planned and went shopping, hitting the thrift markets and having lunch. It was raining and windy on the way over to her house (about 40 minutes away) but not that bad.
We had a great day together even though the rain continued all day long.
This morning when I left Otis and Riley out, I walked out into the garden and couldn't believe my eyes! The storm was worse than I thought. Our back yard was flooded.
This is the walk way out to the garage.
The butterfly bush was blown over and laying in a pool of water. Otis is here checking it out.
More standing water in the back of our yard.
All the mulch is washed away. Riley's toy is soaked.
What a mess. The good thing is the sun is shining brightly today and hopefully some of this water will dry up.
In the meantime, I've got lots of work to do!

So sorry Donna. That was something else.
Love your site, very inspirational. Hope all goes well with the cleaning up today and hope that you end up enjoying your day outside. Look forward to checking back.
No sun over this way yet. It's still raining here.
Oh my, your beautiful back yard!! I sure hopr you can right that nice bush and save it. They are pretty resilient bushes.
We are getting intermittent rain in PA but nothing like they called for and thankfully no wind.

So sorry about your mess! It's a good thing you were out having fun with your daughter and not sitting home watching and worrying.
Oh no! Sorry you ahd that mess. We are getting the storm today --mostly rain.
Hope you get to enjoy some of the weekend!
Hugs, Pat
Hey Donna, We got lots of wind and rain yesterday too....but the wind wasn't as bad as yours I don't think. It's misted all day here today and I took the opportunity to get more grass seed planted. Hope the sun shines tomorrow. We plan on going to the garden center for plants (for the deer..lol ). Have a super great weekend. ~ Lynn
Wow Donna! Glad you are ok...We are getting all of that rain today!
Hugs,
Penny
You Know you could send some of that rain down here!!! Happy weekend sweetie!hughugs
Wow that must have been some storm. We had a big branch from our sweet gum tree come down last week. It hit our roof and took out a little wire temporary fence. It took us a couple of days to cut it up, take it to the dump, and repair the fence. Lots of extra work! Have fun. Mimi
Sorry Donna! You've been TAGGED!! Come check it out!hughugs
Oh poor Riley...
poor you
at least the butterfly bush should recover.
Hi donna,
Glad you had a great time with your daughter...lots of rain in this area too but we needed it so, I cannot say I was sorry for it.
Have a great rest of your weekend.
Ruth
Glad you had a good visit with your daughter...can't let the rain stop a good shopping trip! What a mess in your yard. Sure hope the sun helps to dry it out.
i hope you didn't have any permanent damage. we were lucky here altho many of our neighbors had damage! the day with your daughter sounds delightful!
Donna,
We had high winds on Thursday but no mess and damage like you had... Our two days of a light soaker we very welcome! I do have some low spot out back where the water puddled for two days. The dogs slosh right through it every darn time :o)
