Cameron, NC Antiques Festival

It's that time of year again when my sister and I get together and head for the Cameron Antiques Festival, while our hubbies spend the day golfing. The festival is held every year, the first weekend in May. This year the day started off a bit cloudy with a chance of rain, but as the day went on the sun came out and it was a beautiful day.

Cameron is a wonderful little town in North Carolina where the streets are lined with antique shops, nice places to eat, coffee shops, and the most beautiful homes! I think I enjoy looking at the homes as much as I do the antiques.

Vendors line up along the main street in town, and in front yards, adjoining lots, driveways and parking lots.

The Old Hardware Store is one of my favorite antique shops. There is also a small resturant on the bottom floor with outside patio for eating.

We had a good cup of coffee at the Muse Bros. Antique Shop.

Later we enjoyed a NC barbeque sandwich with slaw, and fries. Tents and tables were set up for eating, and there were fresh flowers on the tables too!

So much stuff to look at!

Here is Miss Belles Tea Room and Antiques. It's a gorgeous home surrounded by big magnolias.

And I'm sure you're wondering what I bought.

Well..........I found this great chair I just had to have. Only $25. It's an old vintage metal rocking chair. (I was lucky it fit in my sisters trunk of her car!) I'm thinking about painting it pink, like my other pink chair on the patio.

I found a few other little treasures, and there was something about this turquoise metal mermaid that spoke to me. Had to have it.

And so ends another year at the Cameron Antiques Festival. What a great day, and so much fun!

Oh what a beautiful morning...

Oh what a beautiful day.......

Otis and Riley and I are going for a walk. Come along and I'll show you some houses.

This is one of the historical houses in our neighborhood. The "A.L. Lancaster" house.

Here we have a spanish house being renovated.

This is a house I pass all the time when Otis and Riley and I take a walk. It's also having some rehab and painting done. I love this house and often wonder what it would be like to live there and what the house looks like on the inside.

What are you guys sniffing?

We made it to the park. Do you see Otis and Riley?

Let's continue our walk. Look at the pretty daffodils.

And this magnificant magnolia tree. It's huge.

I can tell an artsy person lives here.

Another cute little house.

And here we are, back home.

Otis and Riley head to the back patio.

My pink chair is calling me.........come sit and have lunch.

I think Otis and Riley and I are going to soak up every bit of sunshine that we can today.

Back yard

I headed to the back yard for a much needed break today. Coffee in hand, I sat a while in my pink chair. The sun felt so good on my face. Sometimes I think I could sit for hours just listening to the birds and the windchimes ~ it's just so peaceful.

Otis and Riley enjoyed it too.

Hope you have a peaceful day.
