The front door

I have been decorating outside for Christmas since the weather has been so warm. Hard to believe it's December with temps in the 70's. I hung a simple swag of fresh greens on the front door with a big red bow.

While stringing the twinkle lights in the jasmine over the door I noticed the jasmine is blooming. It made my heart happy to see these sweet yellow flowers this time of year.

I placed a big pot of ivy on the front steps. It will give some greenery during the gray winter months. You could also use rosemary.

And that's about the extent of decorating for the front of the house. How much decorating do you do?

In the past, we have decorated inside and out with loads of garland. The older we get and the less help we have, the extent of our decorating decreases.

Your house looks lovely.

Beautiful doorway! Simple is best and nothing beats fresh greens and a red bow.

Donna, your outside decorating is wonderful! I love that the Carolina Jasmine is blooming!! It must look lovely at night with the little white lights amongst the yellow blossoms!!

How lovely! I'm sure that anyone who visits your home this season will feel most welcome. The jasmine is beautiful...so different from what we have here in Indiana.

I used to make TONS of garland...to adorn the fence around our perennial garden. Along with swags for all the windows. It was SO much work...and it made me grouchy. So, I bought artificial garland a few years ago...and artificial wreaths for the windows. From the street, no one can tell...and it saves me a bunch of aggravation!

Love your outdoor decorating. It is amazing to me how living a few hours apart in the same state and having a totally different climate! My jasmine on my pergola is still green, but no blooms. And it is 47 and raining today. It is suppose to turn into snow late evening.

It's beautiful, Donna! The decorating AND the Jasmine. Wow, how strange it seems to me that Jasmine is blooming at your Cottage. What a special gift... :) The only decorating I've done so far is a tee tiny little tree with lights by the hearth...it remains to be seen if I do the rest...I want to craft with fabric and thread more than anything this whole "holly jolly season". :) I do want a tree up just because it wouldn't be Christmas for me without a larger tree with lights. :) I still have all the time I need, right??? ;D Hugs, dear heart! and hugs to my sweet boys too.
