Pink Cottage Rose

For a few weeks now I have been having painter's block, you know, where you just can't bring yourself to pick up a paint brush and put some paint on canvas. As I was having my coffee the other morning and reading through some magazines, all of a sudden I felt the need to paint....with pink paint. I just wanted to slather pink paint all over a canvas.

And so I did, and it felt good, I was creating again. I had no idea what I wanted to paint other than the usual....flowers or roosters, and since there aren't any pink roosters I decided on pink flowers.....pink roses. Pink cottage roses!

And......ta dah! This is the finished painting. I'm calling it Pink Cottage Rose.

It would be perfect hanging on one of the walls here at Mourning Dove Cottage, but I'm thinking I might sell it at Whimsy Two.

This is lovely. I know what you mean I haven't painted in quite a while...I know that once I get started I would enjoy it, but it is the getting started that's the problem. Still I have an idea for a painting based on one of my photos for my Library/media room...so maybe?

Hi Donna!

Love your painting. Do you do artist's dates? Where you spend some time out doing something new or different alone? That helps "unlock" block for me!

Otis and Riley are ever cute!

HPS!

The heat and humidity have gotten me down a little, and I've found myself less energetic. I want to be outdoors but I retreat inside to cool off. So I have been going through old magazines ripping out what I like before tossing them and that also got my creative juices flowing! Your painting is so pretty...I love pink roses!

You know I would think would be the perfect color to scratch your muse. And, your Pink Cottage Rose is a beauty.

I believe chickens should come in pink. Wouldn't they be gorgeous?
