Sculpture in the garden

The Chapel Hill North Carolina Botanical Garden held it's annual "Sculpture in the Garden" fall exhibit and my sister and I, and my dauther's mother-in-law visited the event last week. The sculptures are placed throughout the garden. These are all North Carolina artists.

This is the gate at the entrance of the garden. (my daughter's mother-in-law, and my sister)

As you can see, it was the perfect fall day and our trees are at their peak showing their gorgeous fall colors.

Me and my sister beside a unique sculpture.

The sculptures are on display for two months in the fall.

This is the new education building (on the right) built in October 2009.

Here is another beautiful sculptured gate that we passed when we left the gardens.

We had lunch at the Southern Season Restaurant "The Weathervane" in Chapel Hill and we ate outside on the patio. The weather was perfect and the food delicious!

Savoring these last few wonderful days of fall.

I've been having so much fun lately that I've been a bad blogger. I'll be around to visit and catch up soon. I have photos of the pottery festival and will show you those later this week.

Enjoy your day!
Donna

What a spectacular day! It all sounds wonderful...visiting gardens with the plus of seeing art how good can that be. I love the gates...incidently you did an excellent job with the photography, I find it very hard to get a good picture of gates.(-:

It looks like so much fun, Donna. I am so glad you shared this.

The Weathervane is one of our favorite places for a weekend breakfast. And, shopping at A Southern Season is always fun. It is a must place for Christmas shopping.
