The American Beautyberry....

...is an absolute beauty this time of year.

This tall weeping deciduous shrub bears bright purple fruit or berries that grow in clusters on long arching branches.
I planted this shrub about ten years ago in the front yard beside the driveway. It faces south and loves the full sun. Every fall I look forward to it's beautiful show of glossy iridescent-purple berries.

It makes a pretty fall bouquet.

I have one in my yard too. Like you, I look forward to this time of year when they put on such a gorgeous show. I added a few to a bouquet of dry hydrangeas over the weekend. Makes me happy every time I pass by.

That is gorgeous, Donna!! I have two tiny ones that I planted 2 years ago...I'll keep loving them, keeping in my mind's eye how beautiful they could look one day. :)

Donna, I saw some beauty bushes blooming at the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden a few weeks ago and they were absolutely beautiful! The color is just such a vivid hue of purple!! Just beautiful, hence the name beauty bush!!

What a beautiful berry! The color is perfect for an autumn bouquet!
I'll have to see if we can grown them here in Missouri.

I must see if we can grow these here, but I suspect it is too cold to winter over. The colour of the berries is fantastic. A gorgeous contrast to the everyday Fall colours.
Your arrangement in the copper pot looks so nice!
