A cup of tea

A Cup of Tea

When the world is all at odds
And the mind is all at sea
Then cease the useless tedium
And brew a cup of tea.

There is magic in its fragrance,
There is solace in its taste;
And the laden moments vanish
Somehow into space.

And the world becomes a lovely thing!
There's beauty as you'll see;
All because you briefly stopped
To brew a cup of tea.

Tea helps our head and heart.
Tea medicates most every part.
Tea rejuvenates the very old.
Tea warms the hands of those who're cold.
J. Jonker, Amsterdam, c.1670

I may be a big coffee drinker, but I do enjoy a good cup of tea now and then.

The tea cup that I painted, I made into note cards. Find them on my etsy shop.

Donna - perfect timing. I just brewed a cup of tea, sat down here and poof, there was your poem. I do love tea in the afternoon and always put it in a pretty mug or cup and saucer.
I do love coffee too though but think of it as mostly a morning drink.

I am more of a coffee drinker too. Yesterday I heard a nutritionist on Martha Stewart's show talking about the numerous health benefits in green tea and so now I plan to make it a point to drink it more often.

Love your tea cup.

I drink coffee every morning, but I always have tea in the afternoon. I just finished my cup and came to visit. What a lovely poem. Your painting is so sweet.

Beautiful painting! I agree with you, although I love coffee and drink that on daily bases, sometimes a cup of wonderfully scented tea is just heavenly.
Have a lovely Friday,

Hi Donna, I never could get into coffee, love the smell, the taste however, I cannot stomach. I'm a tea drinker myself, it's my favorite beverage. No matter how hot it is outside, I still love my tea piping hot.

Your teacup cards are gorgeous. Tea drinkers everywhere will just love them.
