Birds

There's a place called Sylvan Heights Waterfowl Park here in NC and that's where we spent our Labor Day Saturday. It was the most beautiful Fall day and a nice drive.

A large rustic porch with lots of rockers welcomed us. A place to sit, take a break and have a nice cool drink.

We walked along the friendly trails filled with flowers. There were ducks and water fowl everywhere. You could let yourself in and out of the different gates where the birds nested and roamed.

Cute little ducks and a big Mr. Toucan.

All kinds of water fowl, large and small, some were colorful and some not so colorful, but all with a uniqueness about them.

There were so many I couldn't begin to tell you all the names, although some were very familiar.

The kuckaberra and, of course, the flamingos.

A lovely white swan swimming in the water...

and butterflies flitting about.

A magnificant park and a beautiful place to visit.

Lovely blog you have! The park is beautiful and so are your pictures -- especially like the swan and the butterfly.

They need to feed the flamingos more shrimp to keep them pink!
