Isn't he adorable? The mother dove was tenderly caring for it it the past few days, and finally, the little guy litfted it's wings and left the nest.
I've been quite obsessed with the dove lately. They are everywhere around our house and I look forward to them in the spring when they nest in our pergola and have their babies. I've taken so many photos of these sweet birds. Last night in bed, I was thinking about changing the name of my blog to Mourning Dove Cottage. Is this obsessive or what?
Hmmmmm. What do you think?
I really do love these sweet birds.

What a sweet looking dove. I like the possible new name...it suits your home.
I love the name! It seems to fit your lovely cottage. And your little doves are so cute. We have 2 in our unlandscaped backyard. I love to hear there cooing. It is a sound from my childhood. Brings back so many memories. Mimi

You know Donna,
I think that this is a special blessing because you are such a wonderful person. God knows how much art and beauty you paint the world, so he painted your flower pot with a baby dove. I have never seen a baby dove ever. What lovely photos too.

Donna, I think Mourning Dove Cottage is a wonderful name! Have you ever tried to paint your doves?
Your dove friend is beautiful Donna. I just saw one in my yard the other day, they are so sweet and pretty.

I like that new name for your blog. Mourning Doves are such beautiful and gentle birds!
They are so sweet and kind. I adore doves. I have had them nest on my porch before. It is no wonder they are the symbol of peace. Their coo is so restful and tender. A cottage name or anything connoting them is GOOD. Thanks for sharing them....
