A painting

I've had this block of wood on my art table for weeks, and I've finally decided to do something with it. (Galen's always cutting wood for different projects in his shop and sometimes he'll bring a piece in and lay it on my art table.)

Here's what I came up with.........flowers!

And my inspiration?................

my sofa pillow.

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, and it should look great hanging in the living room or dining room since the colors came from the pillow.

Hmmmmm.......I'm thinking maybe some note cards next.

I just bought 10 peonie plants (bareroot) and need to plant them. I have to wait until the snow stops and it dries out a bit. Your painting is lovely. Mimi

Beautiful Donna, how extraordinary that you can turn a piece of wood into this exquisite piece of art.;))

Donna,
This is absolutely gorgeous. Peonies are one of my favorites, and I think they are truly difficult to capture the essence in paint. I adore how you painted these.

I never have painted on wood before, but I was experimenting with gessobords over the weekend.

How fabulous that one minute it is just a piece of wood and the next a true work of art. It's beautiful, Donna!
