Mint tea

I was sweeping the back porch and patio today and brushed up against the mint that was growing along the side of the patio and it smelled so good. It immediately prompted me to go and make a cup of mint tea. I'm a big coffee drinker, but occasionally I like to have a cup of tea ~ and of course, I like to have it in my favorite tea cup.

Our family would make, what they called, "meadow tea", which would be the same thing as mint tea and I can remember gathering up handfuls of tea leaves, put a pot of water on the stove to boil and then stir in sugar and the leaves to steep. I still make iced tea this way in the summer and it's so refreshing ~ it also reminds me of "the old days" and family get togethers.

Isnt the smell of mint wonderful? Mint tea sounds delicious - in the Spring we clip of a few leaves from the mint and add them to the boiling water for new potatoes ...new potatoes with mint and butter - delicious }
:-} have a wonderful weekend Donna

Oh, your tea looks so beautiful and yummy! Mint teas are some of my favorites. This year I planted some 'lavender mint' --- and it, along with my 'chocolate mint' are my fav's! My husband likes to take iced fresh-mint teas (from our garden)to work with him in the summertime. BTW, he's from the same county that you are from. . . :)

Mint is one of my favourite herbs.
Like Deb I put it in with new potatoes when boiling them, and with fresh peas. Perhaps it is an English thing?
I made a short visit to Morocco this winter and had their national drink...mint tea..it was exceptional, and I wish I knew how they made it. I must Google it for a recipe.
