Painting a mail box

Our black mail box hanging on the front door in the full sun for many years had faded to a gray.  It was definitely time for some paint (or a new mail box). I opted for the paint.

I always seem to have a selection of spray paint on hand, doesn't everybody?

This was my inspiration (below).  I found it in one of my English Home magazines.  What caught my eye was the fact that the colors were almost the same as our house.

Here is our front door with the newly painted mail box.  An easy project, and it didn't cost a penny!

Spray paint equals a makeover....

Remember the kissing chair (or courting chair) that I found along the curb that someone set out for the trash? I finally got around to painting it.

I know.....a lot of you are probably thinking, why paint it, it's perfect.

Well, for me, and for Mourning Dove Cottage, I saw it in my mind ~ dark chocolate brown.

And with a little spray paint, it was transformed into a rich brown color!

I have it placed in the garden right now near the sitting area with the table and chairs.

It's a very versatile piece ~ I know I'll be moving it around to different areas of the garden wherever I need extra seating.

Oh, I'm lovin my new kissing chair!
