Rose topiaries

Sitting here on this cold January morning sipping my second cup of hot steamy coffee, my thoughts take me to the garden.  January is the perfect time to plan your summer garden.  This year I want to plant two rose topiaries in pots by the steps as you enter the front door.

Light pink with a sweet fragrance.

A rose hedge would be lovely too, or rosemary topiaries, maybe on the back patio.  What could be better for a cottage garden.

I am sure you have ideas rolling around in your head, planning new things for your home or garden for the coming year.

A new year, a fresh start...new opportunities, new choices, new ideas.  I feel a sense of optimism and hope as I plan for this new year.

Enjoy your day!

Your optimism is contagious! I didn't have raised beds this last summer, because it was a new to us house and we had no idea where the sun would show the longest. We are eager to get outside after this freezing cold blows buy and start building our raised beds.

What great ideas. My garden is rather a mess right now; during the month of December my mind is on other things...now I must face the music and start all of the pruning and clean-up. My sights are on adding some new roses too.

Rose topiaries sound beautiful, Donna! And your lovely roses photos are pure eye candy on this far below zero day in Minnesota!

Donna
I think an entry with the sweet smell of roses would be quite welcoming, not to mention pretty!
I still remember my g'mother's tea rose bush at the entry to her yard...

Hey, Donna! Glad to see you back blogging. Hope your Christmas was great. January is my time to think of the garden, too. I'm amazed at your roses. Some of mine blooms beautifully, and some just sulk. Do you have a secret rose concoction to share? :)
Guess we'll get that awful cold weather tonight and tomorrow. Take care and keep those roses warm.

Hi Donna--I found you via TTG and started following you. Your garden ideas are so beautiful and romantic. I love the topiary idea. You must be from England--all your photos look distinctly English :) Blessings, Diana
