Decorating for the season

One of the things I love to do this time of year is plant pansies.
These pretty flowers are certain to bring color all winter long, and carry through to the spring season here in the south.

You can buy cascading pansies for hanging pots and hang them outside your window where you can see them every day!

I am also catching up on my inside fall decorating here at Mourning Dove Cottage.
I dried these large hydrangea blooms late in the summer.
I like to put them in urns on the fireplace mantel.

A few ceramic pumpkins and some berries.

Pumpkins everywhere.

I'm a bit late with my fall decorations, but better late than never ~
next week we will be getting out all of our Christmas things, right?

Hope you're enjoying this beautiful season!

It's looking very cozy for fall at your house ~ inside and out. Like you, I've planted quite a few pansies. You get a lot of "bang for your buck" with them.
It is hard to believe how soon Christmas decorating season will be here.

Your pansies are pretty in the hanging basket where you can see them. Would you believe I haven't planted any this year? I must be slipping.A couple of years ago, I planted all white ones, hoping they'd look like snow in the winter. LOL, And although they were pretty, and worked with the red for Christmas, I really missed the purples and yellows when Spring came.

Hi Donna,
Your cozy fall decor looks great! Our pansies come and go through the winter and are always a welcome sight in the cold...
Happy Weekend to you...
Hugs,
Bella

My neighbors have skipped Thanksgiving and moved straight to Christmas. What a shame. Thanksgiving is a beautiful & economical time to decorate.

Beautiful decorations.;) I miss the mild NC winters, here pansies would not survive the winter.;) Flowers will reappear first in March.;)

I love pansies too and have a pot of them on my front walk. They are pretty hardy here in northern Utah too. I am making myself wait until after Thanksgiving to get out my Christmas decorations. Have started a little gift shopping though. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Donna! Mimi

I haven't planted any pansies yet, just snapdragons. I still have lots of summer stuff blooming.
