A sign of spring, already!

Much to my delight as I walked out into the garden this morning I happened to see the tender young shoots of daffodils popping up in the garden.  Oh what a lovely sight!  Spring cannot come soon enough for me.  I'm trying to hurry winter right along.

It has been quite warm for January these past few days.  Maybe spring will not be too far off.  I am looking forward to digging in the soil, smelling the fresh ground and getting my hands dirty.

Out in the vegetable garden our winter vegetables have been growing nicely.  We have gotten several servings of broccoli so far and have enjoyed it fresh in salads and also steamed.

The cauliflower heads are small and still growing.  I love watching them get bigger and bigger.

As the days go by, I will be out there looking for more signs of spring.

Have you been noticing any?

Dear Donna, wow.;) And I was so delighted to see crocuses shooting up in our garden.;) We too have had a very mild winter so far and I hope it stays this way.;) But we have far less daylight than you, thus everything is still very much behind.;)
Have a great Monday,
xoxo

I am anxious for spring too, although our winter has been very mild. It has been in the hi 60's and 70's for over a week and will continue. This is the first time I have had a winter garden, but it won't be the last. We have enjoyed lettuce, spinach, broccoli and now brussel sprouts.Of course I can hardly wait for the spring flowers!
