Oh, the unruliness

This morning I walked outside to the back yard with my coffee and looked around and realized all the work that needs to be done in the garden. That's a fine hello first thing in the morning, right?

The old tomato vines are now as tall as I am and need to be pulled.

The watermelon vine has completely taken over the garden, and not one watermelon this year!

My beautiful basil has gone to seed but I will still pick it and dry it for the winter.

Weeds to be pulled and mulch to be spread.

Time to give my unruly garden some of my undivided attention.

Enjoy your day!

Oh yes...I know exactly what you mean, lots of cleaning up to be done this time of year. I have been doing the same thing.

Love your new header, very pretty!

It's getting to be that clean up time of the year in the gardens.

Don't you just hate a wake up call like that! It is the time of year that all the gardens need to be tidied up a bit. Hope you still got to enjoy your coffee!

Your garden looks good to me, but when you finish, you can come on down and help me. :) I chopped back salvia and trimmed the unruly boxwood shoots yesterday. Our lantana is on steroids. I've never see lantana grow like this. It's chest high on me and even after I chopped it back about 2 ft. earlier this summer. Whew, I need to hire a gardener.
Have a great Wednesday.

Hi Donna
My garden is such a mess too. With all this rain we've had it's been hard to get out there and do anything!
Hugs, Rhondi

We've been working on our beds, too. And, we had to put some grass seeds down in a few spots that didn't survive our hot summer.

It all looks so green. I guess the rain this Summer helped. Doesn't seem so long ago that you were planting it in the Spring. The Summer sure went fast.
