Feeling the weather

Hello everyone! Today was the first day the sun has shone in several days. Where oh where has the sun gone?? The weather has been rainy and gray for so long I thought I'd never see it shine again, so this afternoon when the sun finally peeped it's head out, I took my cup of coffee and headed for the garden to see what's been happening. It is still very humid and warm, but the bright sun is a wonderful sight.

The garden is so green and lush. This beautiful little butterfly was sipping nectar from my purple verbena.

The Encore azaleas were putting forth pretty pink blooms. I love how they bloom twice ~ in the spring and again in the fall.

And the buds on the chrysanthemums are ready to pop. I will be enjoying these mounds of bright yellow flowers real soon.

Friday is the beginning of fall, September 23rd, the autumn equinox, marking the end of summer, and here in the south this is the best time of year to garden. Time to plant those cool weather annuals and fall vegetables, put bulbs in the ground, and add shrubs and trees.

Looking forward to beautiful days ahead, cooler weather and sunshine.

Hi Donna,
It POURED rain all day today here, but now the sun is trying to shine once again. Since we were in great need of rain, I'll try not to complain :).
Your flowers are all looking so nice and healthy. I really do need to get some of those Encore Azaleas.

We finally got a bit of rain this morning. It's gotten really dry here again, altho I feel guilty saying that when I think about Texas. :/ Anyway, I was so grateful for the drink for the plants, birds, and critters. :) My mums are already starting to bloom. I must add some yellow ones to my 'purchase' list :). Hugs, dear Donna!

Our morning was very foggy and humid..it felt summery here today.

My crystanenums do not have buds as yet! I am getting worried about them not blooming at all.

I love your butterfly photo!

We had so much rain today and then just when I was getting ready to go home from work for the day the sun came out and it was beautiful! It is more humid now though.

Lovely images from a freshened garden. We had heavy rain this evening and I can't wait to have a look in the morning.
