Apple season

Apple season is upon us!

I love apples and I love any kind of apple dessert. I made a yummy apple crisp yesterday and the recipe is so easy, I thought I'd share it with you.

Apple Crisp

8-10 McIntosh apples, pared and sliced (I used Gala, any kind will do)
1 C flour
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
cinnamon to taste (I use lots of cinnamon because I love it)

Pare and slice apples in a pie plate. In another bowl mix all other ingredients. Sprinkle this mixture over the apples making sure all apples are covered. Bake 400 degrees for 40 min. Serve warm or cold.

Easy and delish!

Looks delicious Donna! I can almost smell it. We're right in the middle of peach season here in Northern Utah. Mimi

Here's another super ez crisp recipe:
Mix one box of white cake mix with a stick of butter. Sprinkle it over your prepared fruit (apples w/ sugar, cinnomon, nutmeg). Sprinkle the top to that w/ some toasted pecans. Bake @ 350 until golden.

Oops, I forgot to add the baking time (I went back and edited). You bake it for 40 min.

Oh I love apples and sadly today I found out that I have diverticulosis and can't eat them for a while....something I will miss very much. But after a bit of time I think I can enjoy them again. The apple crisp looks delicious.

That looks soooo good!
We picked a few of our apples tonight to put in the red cabbage. We'll have to get out there on the weekend and pick the rest before the raccoons get them.

I made pumpkin pie the first day of Sept. I just couldn't wait any longer. Fall just feels right for certain things and apple crisp is one of them. Thanks for the recipe!
