Shopping at Aldi

Do you like to save money? Are you familiar with Aldi? It's a German discount grocery store owned by the same people who run Trader Joes. Nothing flashy, just low low prices and great savings.

You won't see brand names like Kelloggs or Betty Crocker, instead you will find "Millville" and "Baker's Corner". You can find some yummy German chocolates and a good bottle of wine for under $3.00. Great prices on dairy and fresh produce too!

There are no butchers, bakers or pharmacists. You bag your own groceries and pay a quarter for a shopping cart which you get back when you return it (that was a bit of a surprise).

Yes, high quality food for super low prices!

In this day and age, aren't we all looking for a way to save a little?

My daughter shops there every week. I have been in Aldi once or twice and I really need to start going there. I also have a Trader Joe's near me and I need to go there more often too. The Target by my house just converted the back part of the store into a grocery store and the prices there are awesome too!

We do have an Aldi's close by and I agree with you that the prices are great. I have not tried the wine, but glad to know it's good.
I will have to give it a try.

We shop Aldi's about once a month. We call it a stock up store. Some of their brands are very good, I've found. You bring your own bags, people use the empty boxes in the aisles, smaller stores for elderly with not much walking, they don't have to hire people to bring carts back, checkout is fast, all that with really good value. We just got one nearby recently; I have seen them in other parts of the country, but have never gone in. I get fliers from them now, but wasn't sure what to expect. Now I will make a trip, but alas no wine. In Mass, wine is rarely sold in grocery stores because of very complicated liquor laws.

My son was recently telling us about Aldi. I am hoping to check it out this weekend.

I went to an Aldi's in Rego Park, Queens recently with a friend. I found some nice produce and lots of wonderful chocolates at a very good price. Dark chocolate is good food! :)
