November

It's hard to believe November is here already. How time is flying by.

Whenever I turn the page to my Old Farmer's Almanac Calender I find some interesting facts about that month.

November 1 ~ All Saints' Day ~ When the corn wears a heavy coat, so must you.

New Moon on the 6th.

Daylight Saving Time ends November 7. Don't forget to turn your clocks!

Of course, Thanksgiving Day on the 25th

Did you know: In Colonial times, dye made from beets was used to make pink pancakes and cake icing.

When frost threatens in warm zones, string up holiday tree lights (not the LED kind) around cold-sensitive trees to prevent damage. Keep the light lit all night.

Happy November!

Isn't the Farmer's Almanac great! I just bought one for my Dad as one of his birthday gifts. He was reading things out of it to us when we were visiting him. It will give him hours of enjoyment! Have a great day!

We always had the almanac around when I was growing up. And we always had a fantastic garden!

Hi Donna....Happy November!!...I think I need to buy one of these Farmers Almanacs....last week when I was meeting the ladies to go to the Country Living Fair I had to get up early..something I never do...at 7:30 it was still pitch dark down here and I was so taken aback that I thought maybe I had missed daylights saving time and I forgot to push back the clock....felt like kind of an idiot when I turned on the t.v.(in the dark) to find out the time was correct....I need to start getting up earlier then 11:00.....
