Summer

June 21 ~ summer solstice

It's officially summer now. Hard to believe.
Time seems to be flying by and I think the older I get, the faster it goes.
It sure does feel like summer today, in fact, it's been feeling like summer with temps in the 90's for a while now.
I was looking at my Old Farmer's Almanac Calendar today and it says that...
A wet June makes a dry September.
hmmmm, I wonder if that's true.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

This cute little poem was also on the calendar.

Kind hearts are the gardens,
Kind thoughts are the roots,
Kind words are the blossoms,
Kind deeds are the fruits.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Enjoy the first day of summer!

I love this post, Donna. And, I really love the verse you shared. I don't believe I had read it before.

Kindness is such a nice word, isn't it?

Hi, Donna! I love this post. I hope that a dry June doesn't make a wet September! LOL!

I love your little teapot in that photo. SO cute!

Hope you had a good anniversary.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Oh, I remember those hot June days in Wilson.....kids at the pool but we were all happy because it was the beginning of those long lazy days of summer....with no schedule and lot of fun ahead.....

Thanks for reminding me of precious days gone by......

What a sweet poem! We'd never heard that before! As far as a dry September...if it's true, we'll have a really dry one - we've had our fair share of rain this month!!

Bright, beautiful photos for the first day of Summer. I wonder what they say about a hot, dry June?
Happy Summer to you.
