Planting herbs

Call me crazy ~ yes, I'm outside today in this 98 degree weather planting herbs, but I was at the garden center this morning and just had to pick up a few more. One can never have enough, right? I bought cilantro, flat Italian parsley, boxwood basil, and German thyme.

My lemon balm below is taking over the one raised bed in the garden.

Rosemary,
one of my favorites.
I now have three bushes.

Fresh mint...

for my iced tea which I'm enjoying on the back porch,

trying to stay as cool as this blue lady.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Donna

Don't mind me as I sit here sipping my iced tea and watch you do all the hard work in this oppressive heat :).
My lemon balm is also taking over the herb garden. I do need to get some parsley as mine from last year has gone to seed. I LOVE cilantro, but didn't think it would grow well when it got hot.
Happy Planting.

A subject close to my own heart: herbs! Have always loved them. My mint and lemon basil seems to wither in this East Texas heat. Then makes a comeback in the fall. I'm not planting another thing until fall, and remind me that you can quote me on that if you see me planting one thing!

I love herbs too dear Donna, but I do not have as many as you.;) My favorite is lemon balm.;)
That drink sounds (and looks) delicious.
Have a lovely weekend,
xoxo

You have such a beautiful place, Donna. I could really laze the day away on your porch with the blue lady and iced tea! :D

We have all of those lovely herbs in our garden as well...don't you love it when your making something that calls for fresh herbs and you go out to your garden and get it? It doesn't get any better! We have to plant our rosemary in pots and bring them in during the winter though...all of the other's stay out.
Love your blue planter...it would look really cute on Karrie's blue themed porch :)
Have a great week Donna!
