Turkish Delights

Have you ever had turkish coffee?

Hubby and I went to the "Turkish Delights" coffee house in Raleigh this afternoon. It's on Glenwood Avenue downtown.

Turkish coffee is very strong and very flavorful. You can see how it's made here.

We sampled three kinds of Baklava ~ almond, walnut and pistacio. Mmmmmm!

They also have other desserts and ice cream as well.

Don't you just love the purple paint? The whole house is purple.

There is seating on the front porch and under the umbrellas on the front lawn.

This is part of Glenwood Avenue (below) with lots of eateries and shops on both sides of the street.

Walking to the car, we passed the Lee Hansley Gallery. Isn't it a beautiful old house?
I've never been inside the gallery ~ something we must do next time.

A lot of condo living in this area.

It was an enjoyable afternoon, and we really enjoyed our turkish coffee at the Turkish Delights coffee house.

The purple irises in our back yard are blooming.

Enjoy your day!

What a great way to spend the afternoon. I like that purple, so bright and cheerful! I would like to find a house like the museum to live in, I am crazy about old houses!

That coffee sounds delightful. I miss the strong coffee that I enjoyed each day in Spain. It tasted like real coffee which is hard to get in our small town.

I have never tasted Turkish coffee, but it looks good. I have, however, tasted baklava and LOVE it.
Looks like a cute and fun place to visit. Next time I get to Raleigh I'll have to remember it.
