Mourning Dove Cottage

Another beautiful day here at Mourning Dove Cottage...

except for the pollen. Do you see it there on the table? The porch is covered with it. Well, we won't let that spoil our day.

I filled the bird feeders early this morning, and guess what I saw peeking down at me from the pergola....

this little guy. Once again, the mourning dove have come back to nest in the Lady Banks Rose over our back patio.

I sooooooo look forward to them coming every year.

This photo below was taken of a mother and baby in our pyracantha bush two years ago.

These two were in the pergola last year.

Aren't these little guys so cute?

This one found a cozy spot in our flower pot by the back door last year.

The mourning dove are always welcome here.

A happy place for them to live, and a pleasure for me to watch.

We have pollen everywhere here too. I'm hoping it will rain today and wash it all away.
I enjoyed all of your mourning dove pictures. How perfect that they come back to your "Mourning Dove Cottage" every year. They obviously know they are welcome there.
I can't wait to receive the teapot and tea cup :-)

Our yard has an abundance of Turtle Doves too. I love the cooing noise they make. It so soothing. I love that mermaid in the first photo.

Definitely a Claritin season! I am hoping to build a pergola on the back of the house covering the patio doors for a little shafe there...always something!

I love all your dove photos! Yes, the pollen was so thick here when the wind blew it looked like a dust storm. Fortunately, we had lots of rain yesterday and it got washed away (for today). I can't even go out on my porch. The pollen is so thick on everything!

Donna, you have such a BEAUTIFUL place---I would love to come and play at your house. :) We have lots of mourning doves here at Ships Landing too but I've not discovered their nest sites yet. :)

Hi Donna
We are covered in pollen too. I am so happy for you that the mourning doves returned. I so loved seeing the photos of them last year. Tell hubby I think his rooster is great! Enjoy your magazines.
