Early morning and a book

I walked outside early this morning with my coffee to walk around the garden and noticed how pretty the ornamental cabbage looked in the sun. It has gone to seed and now has soft yellow flowers. A red finch was perched on one of the stems.

Soon it will need to be replaced.

Over the weekend I finished Maeve Binchy's "Whitethorn Woods". Another enjoyable read. I love all her books.

It's a beautiful day for a walk so I'll take Otis and Riley to the park, and then there are a few unfinished painting projects waiting for me to attend to.
Hope everyone has a good day!

It is chilly here this morning. So I am staying inside and having a second cup of coffee.

I will have to check that book out!
Hugs,
Penny

It's a gorgeous day here too. I did some yard work Saturday but filled up our "green" garbage can. Thankfully, the trash man came this morning so I can now work in the yard again today. With all of the rain we've had, everything is completely overgrown. I can't wait to get out there and get my hands dirty!

I am also a fan of Maeve Binchy! her books really transport her readers into a different place. She is so wonderfully descriptive. Wouldn't it be fun if she wrote a blog?

I too had a dog named Otis. He recently passed away...but it is always fun to meet others who name their pets fun names!
Have a wonderful evening!

Maeve is the best! You get so engrossed in her characters, don't you think?
