Pansies and cabbages

Every year around this time I like to plant pansies and ornamental cabbages. They're a wonderful winter plant and they bring pretty color to the garden and porch.

The purples and blues look stunning when and if we get a dusting of snow.

Riley thinks this is a good idea.

Oh Wow, how wonderful to be able to plant some color around the house! I must rely on the snow and the evergreens for my color and of course visiting you!

Donna, the colors in the pansies and cabbages are just beautiful! That Riley-what a cutie pie he is! You reminded me that I need to plant some pansies in my courtyard!

Lovely Donna, not only the flowers but little Riley as well. : ) Nothing outside is blooming by me. Well almost nothing...today I went outside to fine one lone Black Eyed Susan blooming against the snow. I had to grab my camera and get a photo, I couldn't believe it.

They look wonderful! I wonder if they would last here in the mountains?

Oh so pretty !!
Now I want some...don't think they would last too long with our crazy temps.:(

I also plant ornamental cabbage each autumn and it can last long into winter, adding colour to the pots.;)
Have a lovely Friday,

Such a pretty combination of plants and flowers. We were in Asheville last weekend and I took some photos of planters filled with pansies, cabbages and daffodils. Beleive it or not some of the daffodils were getting ready to bloom. I thought it was such a pretty combination that I had to take pictures so I would remember to do it. LOL

Love that photo of Riley. I can even see his little eyelash.

Hi. This is my first visit, you have a lovely blog. I found you via summer kitchen girls blog. Would love to follow your blog but don't see that option. Have you thought about adding the follower widget? Hope you'll pop over to say Hi to me too @ my blog.
