Our Pennsylvania relatives arrived by train on Wednesday afternoon.
Here is "Ms. Railrose" at the Wilson Train Station. She's a mosaic statue made by a local artist. (she waited with me......or, I waited with her)
While our family was here, we visited the NC Life and Science Museum in Durham and discovered what a fantastic place it was (we've never been there before).
This is the Butterfly House.
There were also trails, a petting zoo, a cafe and a train ride. The museum itself was fabulous. We spent the whole day there.

Another trip we took was to see the Tryon Palace in Historic New Bern, NC, about 2 hours from our house, along the coast.
We took the tour of the palace.
and out.

Glad you enjoyed your company. Donna! You visited some lovely places.
I went to a similar butterfly exhibit once. It was so hot inside ( tropical butterflies) but so wonderful to have butterflies actually land on the palms of my hands!
Glad you had such a great time with your family! That palace looks like a great place to visit! We will have to put it on the to do list if we get down to your area.

Glad to hear that you had such a nice visit with your company. Mrs. Railrose looks like a nice companion while waiting for their arrival. The butterfly exhibit looks wonderful. I will have to keep these places in mind when we are ready to do some sightseeing.
