A surprise

Look what I found this morning while trimming the jasmine over the front door. Two little white dove eggs. What a surprise!

And momma wasn't far from the nest. I trimmed the jasmine very carefully so as not to disturb.

She waited very patiently until I was finished.
More baby dove will be taking up residence here at Mourning Dove Cottage.

Donna, that is so awesome! I can't wait to see the hatchlings! I had a domestic ring-necked dove for 15 yrs. Her name was Chloe. Every 2 weeks she would lay little white eggs like that. Of course, they weren't fertile. Sometime I would blow them out and put them in bird nests I found. One day my nephew came over and when I was in the bathroom he broke every one of them. He was only 4 so I couldn't be mad at him. Enjoy your little eggs! Have a great weekend!

I loved visiting your blog! I was linked via Beaverly's, "How Sweet The Sound." We live in SC (from NYS) and the birds are our joy. Your site reminded me of my blog and myself! I will become a follower. Kerrie http://beaver-kerrie.blogspot.com.
