Crape Myrtle

There's not a prettier summer bloom here in the south than the crape myrtle. This year they seem to be exceptional!

Bigger, brighter and fuller! The colors remind me of lipstick.

Yes, they are beautiful this year. I think we have the same color.

I chose this color because it is the color my grandmother had for her crepe myrtles. Sweet memories.

Your lawn and home are lovely.

It's so gorgeous. I know it didn't grow in California and I don't think it grows here in Utah. Wish it did. Beautiful. Mimi

Donna, the crape myrtles are just beautiful here in Charlotte too! I saw a very unusual purple color yesterday-it is just gorgeous. I'll have to see if I can take a picture to show you! I agree, the color is like lipstick on yours.

It was lovely catching up with you thsi afternoon, Donna! I've always loved to see the crepe myrtles in the south ... I regret they can't tolerate the cold here.

The mourning dove and geraniums you painted are so pretty!

I like your new blog header..your home is so beautiful.

I'm not that familiar with Crape Myrtle's Donna...yours is just beautiful. How long do the blooms last??

I know strange people that don't like them because of the "mess" they make. I look at the fallen petals as beautiful confetti.

My multi trunk Myrtle is "Watermelon" that my parents gave my husband and me as a wedding anniversary present years ago. They look great anytime of year.
