A rusty project

For a while now, our patio chandelier has been rusting. I kept telling myself that I must get to working on it, get it sanded and then repaint it. Well, I finally got around to it. A bit of sanding, then wiping it clean, and then spray painting it with black rustoleum paint.

I spread out an old sheet in the back yard for spraying. My little helpers were around, as you can see, but not for long since they didn't like the fumes.

It's all finished now and once again, hanging from the pergola on the patio. That wasn't so bad and should be good for several more years.

And while I was hanging the chandelier, I noticed another dove nesting quietly in one of the corners of the pergola.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I also want to mention, and thank all of you for your concern, good wishes and positive thoughts for Galen on finding another job. It means a lot. We are working on this together and hopefully good things will come.
Very beautiful; I have a very similar chandelier, but in my living room; it looks so lovely when the candles are lit.
And a wonderful picture of your pergola with the dove.;)
That looks like a mighty snazzy project there! Love the way it looks in your pergola, and I love your little helper. And the dove nest is so sweet.
I just emailed you about the birdies. Check in the mail if the mailman comes today!!!
I will pray for Galen, Donna. My friend Trish is trying to get a job, too, and she would love your prayers.
XO,
Sheila
Hi Donna,
Your chandelier project turned out great - amazing what a girl can do with a can of black spray paint. I love your trash to treasure window with sunflowers - it is adorable and perfect for your garden porch.
Looks like you will have lots of home grown vegetables for the summer.
I will keep Galen in my prayers and pray that he will find a job soon.
Have a lovely week.
Blesings,
Erin
Don't you just love spray paint? It will fix about anything!
Sweet that you have so many beautiful doves nesting around. They're one of my favorite birds :)
I have learned about so many neat things to do with spray paint since I began blogging. Your chandelier turned out so nice. I love the look of a chandelier in the garden and it looks like you have the perfect spot for it.
First, let me apologize. Things have been crazy for me this last week, and I didn't know about Galen's job. I agree that it is a major bummer, but I will send positive thoughts your way. Hopefully, we will soon be seeing economic recovery.
The chandelier looks great, and I loved reading about the doves.
