All around town with Madison

Maddie, our granddaughter came to visit for a couple of days. School is now out for the summer and she was ready for a sleepover and some playtime with Nana and Papa.

We thought it might be fun to do some things around town.

Walking Otis and Riley is always on the agenda.....a walk to the Rec Center.

Stopping along the way to climb a tree.

Running like the wind.

A whirl on the merry-go-round at the park.

Later, some time at the swimming pool.

Playing in the waterfall fountain at the Paul Berry Park downtown. The building in the background is the old Coon School that was renovated and turned into condos.

A coffee and tea break at the french restaurant, Le Doux Cafe and Bakery, experiencing a bit of France since she will be traveling there in a few weeks with her Mom and Dad.

Then on to some culture in the Boykin Art Gallery at the Wilson Arts Council.

Mosaics were the featured art.

A visit to Imagination Station, a hands on museum for kids.

The architecture in this building is BEAUTIFUL, and I love the colors!

Papa played the Imaginary Strings, while Maddie entertained herself at the mirrors.

Check out the albino boa constrictor. It was HUGE.

After leaving Imagination Station, we walked home in the historic part of town, passing the Jarman House Restaurant on Green Street. It's a quaint little house that serves lunch.

This is a pretty house on Green Street.

Later, dinner and a movie before Maddie was picked up to return home.

What a fun time. It's always a fun time and an adventure when Maddie comes to visit. We love having her.
