March

I turned the page on my Old Farmer's Almanac Gardening Calendar from February to March and found some fun and interesting facts.

By the way on Sunday March 8th, Daylight Saving Time begins. Yeah! Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead. "Spring ahead, Fall back", remember?

Did you know that seeing a robin in the garden is a sign of good fortune.

March 26 is New Moon. Plant flowers and vegetables that bear crops above ground from the day the Moon is new to the day that it is full again.

There is a Vernal Equinox on the 20th.

Of course, St. Patrick's Day is March 17.

And, as I mentioned before, the weather in March is very fickle here. Right now it is 22 degrees and there are icicles hanging from the Lady Banks Rose on the back porch. This weekend coming we are to have sunny warm temperaures high in the 70's.

I am SO looking forward to the weekend!

Grandma Chickie always plants by the Farmer's Almanac. We are supposed to have warmer weather next week and I'm looking forward to a morning where I can go outside in the morning with my coffee.

Hi Donna,

My darling blue birds arrived safe and sound as well as dear little birds on a stick. They are looking for the perfect place to "nest" in my garden. Loved the home tour on your previus blog - your house is charming and I enjoyed the walk through your neighborhood.
Have a lovely week.
Blessings,
Erin

The weather certainly has been crazy, hasn't it?!

It will take me forever to adjust to DSL. It always does. Maybe I'm just not as "adjustable" as I used to be.

We are having similar weather in Pennsylvania. VERY cold during the beginning of the week and getting progressively warmer, I, too, can't wait until the warm weekend.

Delightful post Donna! I enjoyed the almanac facts.

I love book bargains and those decorating books look really nice. I love the country colonial style in the first few photos --I've always like that look and most of my furniture matches that.

Have a good weekend!
