Halloween

HALLOWEEN

A gentle breeze rustling the dry cornstalks.
A sound is heard, a goblin walks.
A harvest moon suffers a black cat's cry.
Oh' do the witches fly!
Bonfire catches a pumpkins gleem.
Rejoice, it's Halloween!

-Richard Anderson

Halloween is upon us! Are you ready for all the little trick-or-treaters?

I love the picture, it is so very indicative of the season.:) And the poem is lovely.
Donna, I have an award waiting for you at my place, I hope you will accept it.:)

I have to admit that I love Halloween but the lights get shut off and the blinds get closed...One reason is our very large dog who's not door bell friendly but the real reason is that its our anniversary!! Yes, I got married on Halloween. Crazy I know. We usually go out to dinner or light the fire and have a fancy dinner at home...Usually Filet Mignon with all the trimmings...

Great picture! We don't have trick or treaters where I live. Too far away from civilization....I miss them.

Donna - Hi! I found you through the lovely Protege. Halloween isn't a big thing in the UK, which is a shame as the kids seem to have so much fun with it. The whole thing is a family affair and we cold do with more of that over here. On a different note, North Carolina is a state that I am very fond of. I spent some time in Charlotte around 5 years ago and met some of the friendliest people I've ever met ... and I've been to lots of places!

I love your jack o' lantern, Donna! We don't usually get any trick or treaters. They tend to stay in the development... I really miss seeing all the costumes. :(

Happy Halloween to you!
xoxo,
Mary

That's a great Halloween photo, Donna.

What are Otis and Riley going to be for Halloween? I think I should dress Maisie up as a bunny, yes? HA!;)

This may be the first Halloween I don't give out candy in almost 30 years! I'll be in Manhattan watching the big parade -- I've always wanted to do that and I made a promise to myself to do it this year and blog about it -- hope my photos come out OK since they'll all be taken at night!
