Painting

I seem to be a bit behind in my painting projects, so today (maybe all week) I'll be painting. Galen (my handy dandy hubby) just finished two marble chasers that need to be painted, I'm working on a few signs, and I also have a few other drawings started but not painted.

Here are the two marble chasers. The red one is painted in a racing theme, but not quite finished. The yellow one, I haven't decided yet, maybe orange, green and white.

These are two paintings I just finished ~ a bird and a rabbit. No bright colors here, I wanted to give them a softness, a more subtle look. Both are painted on wood and measure 3-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches.

Self-standing easels.

Be sure to check my etsy shop ~ you'll find most of these listed on whimsytwo!

I'll be indoors painting ~ with the temperatures in the high 90's reaching near 100, what better way to pass the time!

Have a great day!

Those turned out really lovely. I love the bird. I will check out the shop.

I hope you keep cool doing what you love. That sounds so nice to me.

Have a great week Donna.

Hey Donna, nice to see you back. Yes, it is true, sometimes as artists we are more productive then others. Looks like you are going through a very productive phase. I love your bird and rabbit, they are wonderful. I really love the muted tones. I'm painting birds lately too...the desire has really hit me, who knows why.

I love those marble chasers and thanks by the way for telling us what they are, I had no clue about what they were called. I always called them "the marble things" so this is a lot better. : ) Enjoy your week in the studio and look forward to seeing lots of beauties from you.

Hi Donna!
Your paintings are so lovely! You're a great artist Donna! I love birds and bunnies so you got me on both of them.
Otis & Riley are so adorable!! I was looking at your road trips and they are such good travelers. Our Zoe & Gur are great in the car also. But don't put our poodle in the car and if you do it better be a short trip if you want any hair left on your head cause you're gonna pull it out pretty quick!
Have a great week!
Hugs, Sherry

Sounds like you had a wonderful time with your sister! I agree the heat makes it better to be inside these days. I love both your paintings!
