Oh my, an award and a winner!

An award!

Arte Y Pico

I've received a special award from the lovely Karen at a scrap book of inspiration. Thank you, Karen and I am honored that you have passed this award on to me! If you don't know Karen, please be sure to visit her. She is a very talented artist and has the most beautiful, creative and inspiring blog.

These are the rules:

1) Choose 5 blogs that you consider deserving of this award based on creativity, design, interesting material, and overall contribution to the blogger community, regardless of the language.

2) Post the name of the author and a link to his or her blog so everyone can view it.

3) Each award-winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award.

4) The award-winner and the presenter should post the link of the "Arte y Pico" blog so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5) Please post these rules!

I know I'm supposed to pick five, but that's hard to do. I enjoy all of you, so I am passing this on to everyone of you fellow bloggers! Each one of you is deserving of this award! You all contribute so much to the blogging community whether it be through your art and creativity or your writing. You are all an inspiration!

And, something else.....

I was the lucky winner of Kim's giveaway! A Tasha Tudor book! Hop on over to see Kim at happy at home, she loves to garden, cook, decorate and thrift shop. And she's very creative too ~ look how she gift wrapped the book. Isn't it cute?

Her giveaway book was "Kitchen Gardens", a book for the gardner and the cook. It's a year round guide to growing and using herbs and vegetables. And the illustrations are by Tasha Tudor. Tasha Tudor is an illustrator and author of childrens books. She just passed away June 18, 2008. You can read more about her here.

Aren't her illustrations wonderful?

She owned sweet little Corgi dogs and used them alot in her paintings.

Thank you, Kim! This is a lovely book, and now that I'm bringing in lots of vegetables and herbs from the garden, I will find it quite useful!

Hi Donna,

Wow, what a nice surprise to be featured on your blog today :-)
and thank you for the kind things you had to say.
I hope you enjoy the book. I can tell from reading some of your archived posts that you grow beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.

Enjoy,
