Antiquing

My sister and I had a good day of shopping on Saturday. We went to the local antique shops, flea market and Goodwill. Here are some of my treasures.

A beautiful ornate Italian dish with flowers. It has holes around the outside of the dish and I'm going to weave a ribbon through the holes and hang it in the kitchen.

A rose napkin holder made out iron or metal. It will go perfect with my Italian planter that I have.

A small decorated box made in Italy.

An old metal jewelry box with a deep red lining.

And my most favorite thing of all ~ this piece! It's supposed to be a plant hanger, I believe, but I have other plans for it. I'm going to turn it around, attach the chains to the other end and hang crystals on the bottom. I'm turning it into a lamp and hanging it in the garden.

It's going to be lovely, and I'll show you when I'm finished!

Oh, Donna, that is going to be beautiful. I can hardly wait to see the finished creation.

I love your Italian plate. I have a similar one in the dining room.

You sound like such a fun friend to be hanging out with.

I love all your finds. Are you making a hanging lamp of some kind out of that plant holder?

I really love that box you found too. Everything is lovely.

Have a great day and glad you found some goodie treasures.

Oh, and what a great job you did on that wingback chair! It looks wonderful. Good for you for tackling it. I have never done any upholstery like that (just seat cushions). You made it look easy.

Donna, so nice that you and your sister live within driving distance, so you can get together and go antiquing like that.

Wow, I love what you did to turn that planter into an outside lighting fixture, it is gorgeous and elegant. I know you want to keep this one but people would really buy that kind of work, so creative and elegant.

I'm kind of a picky one when it comes to decorating but I have to say that I'd buy every single piece that you bought...you have great taste!

I can't wait to see the planter transformation!
