Gardening

I found myself puttering in the garden today after taking Otis and Riley for a walk. It was a beautiful day and after all the rain we had yesterday, there were plenty of weeds to be pulled.

I have an abundance of black-eyed-susans coming up and they're spreading everywhere. They will brighten up the garden later in the summer.

The purple verbena is spreading nicely.

The violets are spreading too, in fact I pulled a bunch up, otherwise they'd take over the whole garden!

The rose campion looks so pretty next to the rosemary.
I planted some flowers in pots ~ this is a New Guinea Impatien,

and a few more pink geraniums.

Notice the pretty white blooms on the nandina bush.

And...look who came to visit!

My little friend, the hummer.

I love hummingbirds and flowers and gardens. You tickled me this afternoon. I just came in from weeding the garden. Your weather is way ahead of ours, but it is getting there. Thanks for sharing these awesome pics. I read some of your bio, and we have so much in common. I think if you would have just put Spitfire Grill in the movie section, we would have been a perfect match in that area. Bye Donna.

Everything looks beautiful, and a girl just can't have too many pink geraniums.

Your garden is just lovely! I love the lushness of it. I can't wait to be able to divide and spread around all my new perennials! I must start dreaming up my next sign! :-) Rosie

Donna, your garden is looking beautiful. Isn't it the truth, weeds seem to come up right away. Funny, seems to be the first thing to grow in every year....weeds!! I love Black Eyed Susans, I have a bunch of them myself, alone with Cone Flowers, they are easy care and such a pleasure. Enjoy your lovely garden.

Your garden is beautiful! I do a lot of blog surfing for inspiration for my photography. I wish I had any knack for gardening though... I can't even seem to keep house plants alive.

Hi Donna, I always enjoy garden tours. You were talking about plants taking over. Last year I transplanted some hosta and just one little slip of vinca was caught up in the hosta. Wow! That vinca must have loved where I planted it because it's spreading like wildfire and has the biggest healthiest leaves. I had to trim it back yesterday evening. Hope you are having a fabulous day. ~ Lynn

Your garden looks wonderful Donna. I bet those black-eyed Susan's are spectacular when in bloom. You have inspired me to take a ride to the nursery to pick up some plants and potting soil to do my planters. Oh, and your little friend the hummingbird is just so lovely.
