A fun roadtrip

Galen and I took a road trip to the Outer Banks this past weekend. We went to Kitty Hawk, NC to see the Wright Brothers National Memorial, the first powered flight of Wilbur and Orville Wright, (this was a trip we took for Galen's birthday) and the beach (for me!). Of course I wanted to see the memorial too, but I REALLY wanted to be at the beach. We took Otis and Riley too. They had a great time running along the ocean front and exploring everywhere. Galen and I stayed in a hotel right off the beach and you could see the Wright Brothers Memorial in the background.

The weather was great, a bit windy, but in the 60's.

We had a fabulous time and some excellent seafood! And, of course, I got my fill of the beach ~ the salt air, the sunshine, the sea gulls, and seashells. Ahhhh.

Hey Donna, what a great weekend get away. Otis and Riley crack me up, the two of them are so darn cute. Wish I could meet them in person.

A little hot dog (as I love to call them) lives next door to me. She is the cutest thing, huffy but cute...I can rarely get near her to pet her. She is a little doll though. The little dog with the big attitude!

What a great way to spend the weekend. Walking the beach picking up seashells is a, rare, but favorite thing for me to do. I bet otis and Riley just loved the wind and waves :-) Rosie

When we lived in Norfolk, VA, we used to drive down to the OB at least one weekend a month. I have some wonderful memories of that area. Your photos were so sweet...and I am sure your precious doggies loved it!

Hugs,
Sue

Hi Donna!
When I was a teenager we camped on Cape Hatteras. Walked through lighthouses and more..I love that area. I want to go to Wilmington, NC this summer and then drive down to Charleston, Savannah and Beaufort.

Now I am down right jealous. Nags Head is my favorite vacation beach of any place I can think of it. I am dying to get there soon. Where do you stay that allows dogs because I would love to take Ben? We have stayed in cottages that allowed dogs but not a hotel. Please tell. :) I can almost smell that hyacinth.
