Sad to say, I had to dig up four mature bushes this week from the back yard near the patio. They just didn't survive the heat and 100 degree plus temperatures and drought. These four shrubs were the entrance to the garden. I'M SO SAD. I have before and after pictures. It looks so bare now without the bushes.
Maybe some drought-tolerant shrubs might be in order, or I may do something entirely different. A trip to the garden center will probably help me make up my mind.
