Sunday afternoons are for playing

We went to the park Sunday afternoon.

Our granddaughter, daughter, and son-in-law came over to spend the day with us. We went to the park to enjoy the outdoors and also to run the radio controlled car that our son-in-law has.
Looks like pretty serious stuff.

Maddie and her Dad got it running.

Other kids in the park came by to watch and had fun running and chasing after it.

Dasher dog came along too. This little guy made friends with Dasher.

Dasher's waiting for someone to throw the pine cone.

There were a lot of people out enjoying the beautiful fall weather ~ taking walks, feeding the ducks, fishing, having picnics and playing.

I love days like this.

It was a wonderful day to play in the park.

Playing outside

Even though it 's cold today, Otis and Riley want to play outside. Of course it's a mad dash for the back fence to find the squirrel, this is the first order of business. There they sit and watch...and watch. They also must check all the boundaries of THEIR territory running around every inch of the property. They might have to bark at the cat next door too.

Then when they've had enough outside, they come inside and make a run for the back of the couch. It's now time to get down to some serious napping!

Play

I meant to do my work today

But a brown bird sang in the apple tree,

And a butterfly flitted across the field,

And all the leaves were calling me.

And the wind went sighing over the land,

Tossing the grasses to and fro,

And a rainbow held out its shining hand ~

So what could I do but laugh and go?
