It was time for new window boxes when our wooden ones finally gave way. I've been thinking about the metal (or wrought iron) ones, mainly because they look so cottagy.
Well, this week Galen and I stopped by a fabulous garden center in Selma called DeWaynes. They had the kind I wanted so we picked up two, and today, Galen is installing them and Mourning Dove Cottage is very happy!
Below are some window boxes I found on Pinterest. Love the look and all the flowers!

I love all those inspiration photos! I remember how much I loved the window boxes in Germany - cherry red geraniums and deep blue lobelia tumbling out of the boxes.
HI Donna, Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and your sweet comments. I love your blog too and am so happy to find it! You are so talented. I am tempted to have you paint a picture for me, even though I don't actually have a pet! I love dog paintings.
All of these images of window boxes are so pretty. I love the warmth that cottages evoke. Just makes you want to go inside and see them all.
Can't wait to see yours!

Hi Donna...I'm sure all those gorgeous window boxes are somewhere in France....they are gorgeous...I just planted some color on our deck...no window boxes...I used a Pottery Barn beverage server...it looks more like a planter to me then a beverage server...I wonder if they mismarked it....so far so good I have only managed to kill off one plant in the mix...
I sure do love windowboxes! Your pics are great inspiration. Mimi
I hope to see your window boxes overflowing with pretties soon. It's fun to pick out flowers for a new project and these can be changed in the fall with gourds, pumpkins and grasses.
