Just another place to nest....

Oh, yes, the birds have plenty of places to nest here at Mourning Dove Cottage, and now there is one more new place. Yesterday I hung this terra cotta Williamsburg Bottle Birdhouse on the front wall by the jasmine and hopefully some little bird will be happy to call it home (by the way, I found this bird house at Goodwill for $2.00).

Let me show you some of the other bird houses we have for the birdies.

This blue victorian bird house hangs by the back screened in porch.

The little wooden round bird house, on the right, is one that Galen made ~ very unique, don't you think?

He also make the white one with the tin roof below. I added a crystal dangly for decoration.

The two-story red house hangs in the flower garden,

and the yellow carved bird house (another one Galen made) hangs along with a few others in the sycamore tree in the front yard.

In the spring time the mourning dove will usually build a cozy nest in the jasmine above the front door ~ just another place to roost.

(notice my little weiner baby below looking out the front door) He says, Hello.

Enjoy your day everyone!

They all look great but I do love the victorian the best. I think it is awesome that the doves nest over your door. That is so neat. Have a great weekend.

Donna, we used to have 3 of those Williamsburg Bird Bottles on our farm. They were wonderful and the birds loved them! I hope you have visitors. I love all your other bird houses too!

You have nests within your nest...they are all so cute. How do you keep them in such good condition...all of my birdhouses seem to fall apart so easily. These are wonderful and so diverse.

Your house looks so charming, Donna! I love all your birdhouses, you got a great deal on the terra cotta one from GW! We have birdhouses all over our yard and really love watching the birds, too!

If I were a bird, I'd have a hard time deciding which one of these lovely little homes I'd want to live in.

Donna, I think the birds must love you. My husband has a lot of birdhouses, too. He is always on the hunt for another one.

Your new GW birdhouse is so unique. I haven't seen one like that before. It looks great where you hung it.
You have a lot of very attractive homes for the birds to choose from.
Enjoy your weekend.

I have quite a few birdhouses too. But so far no birdies have ever lived in any of them. Do yours get used by any? Love that round one that Galen made. Mimi
