A back yard makeover



There's an area in our back yard under the big holly tree where the grass just would not grow. It was driving me crazy for some time, and no matter how hard I tried, only the weeds seemed to thrive.


So hubby and I cleared it out, roots and all, leveled it nicely, and spread down pine bark mulch. This area is in the middle of two stone walk ways.

And after all day working in the warm sun, I must say I'm quite happy with how it turned out.




I brought in the wrought iron table and chairs and moved the wicker courting chair near by and now it's a nice sitting area in the back yard.




It wasn't a huge back yard makeover, but enough to make a big difference!

    Hi Donna!

    I LOVE your garden...your whole yard that I've seen so far is absolutely lovely. One day I hope ours will be as lush and beautiful as yours is...the kind of place you want to just sit back and breathe it all in or read a book and sip some iced tea or lemonade and maybe even have a little light classical playing in the background. Heaven!

    Donna I just looked at your art...how wonderful! A few of my favorites are the yellow Victorian house...your cottage...and of course the roosters. They're all gorgeous! I've always wanted to try my hand at painting but just haven't mustered up enough courage. I'm going to enjoy visiting you often and of course reading your past posts. I hope you have a lovely day.

    It looks like you found the perfect solution for your problem area. The table and chairs look so nice and inviting where you have placed them. I bet you will enjoy a lot of cups of coffee there.
