This morning Otis and Riley were making a commotion on the back porch. I went to see what was going on and I spotted this little baby dove sitting in the ivy pot. It was driving the dogs crazy. 
Isn't he adorable? The mother dove was tenderly caring for it it the past few days, and finally, the little guy litfted it's wings and left the nest.
I've been quite obsessed with the dove lately. They are everywhere around our house and I look forward to them in the spring when they nest in our pergola and have their babies. I've taken so many photos of these sweet birds. Last night in bed, I was thinking about changing the name of my blog to Mourning Dove Cottage. Is this obsessive or what?

ReplyDeleteI think that this is a special blessing because you are such a wonderful person. God knows how much art and beauty you paint the world, so he painted your flower pot with a baby dove. I have never seen a baby dove ever. What lovely photos too.
