A little bit of a change
I've decided to incorporate "Mourning Dove Cottage" into my blog name. Actually, I wanted to change my blog name to just Mourning Dove Cottage, if you remember here, but I would have lost my old blog, didn't want to do that. I was changing settings last evening and almost had heart failure when I thought I lost Donna's Art!

So, without changing all my settings and losing Donna's Art, I'm just adding to it. Donna's Art.....living artfully and enjoying simple pleasures here at Mourning Dove Cottage. (because this is where the dove live)
Just wanted you to know. Enjoy your day!
Lake Crabtree County Park

Sure.

Boating and picnicing.

Oh no.

Let's get in the car and head for home. We're soaked!

Mourning Dove Cottage?
This morning Otis and Riley were making a commotion on the back porch. I went to see what was going on and I spotted this little baby dove sitting in the ivy pot. It was driving the dogs crazy.
Isn't he adorable? The mother dove was tenderly caring for it it the past few days, and finally, the little guy litfted it's wings and left the nest.

A morning walk
We walked past the house at the end of our block and their front yard was lined with gardenia bushes that were all in bloom. It smelled heavenly!

You could also smell the ligustrum blooms at the park. They remind me of lilacs, a very sweet fragrance.
Of course, I had to bring home a magnolia bloom from the park with it's fresh clean scent. I put it in one of my pretty tea cups and now the house smells so good.

I love mornings like this.

We enjoyed the Lucama Festival on Saturday, however, we got rained out mid afternoon. It was a good time while it lasted with yummy festival food, vendors, entertainment and a parade. With it's small town atmosphere, Lucama's streets are lined with trees, stately homes, a central park and churches. I wish I would have taken more photos to show you, but we were busy at the booth and seemed to be entertaining all the kids with the marbles!

It was nice to have our daughter, Jen, and hubby and granddaughter come along to spend the day with us and help with the setting up and taking down. Unfortunately, we all got soaked from the rain which came fast and heavy! Weather can be so unpredictable. Thank you Jen, Rob and Maddie! It was a fun day!
